Biografie
Willie Hugh Nelson ist ein US-amerikanischer Sänger, Gitarrist, Songwriter, Schauspieler und Aktivist. Er war eine der Hauptfiguren des Outlaw-Country-Subgenres, das sich Ende der 1960er Jahre als Reaktion auf die konservativen Beschränkungen des Nashville-Sounds entwickelte. Der Erfolg seines Albums Shotgun Willie (1973) bei Kritikern, kombiniert mit dem Erfolg von Red Headed Stranger (1975) und Stardust (1978), machten Nelson zu einem der bekanntesten Künstler der Country-Musik. Nelson hat in über 30 Filmen mitgespielt, war Co-Autor mehrerer Bücher und engagierte sich für die Nutzung von Biokraftstoffen und die Legalisierung von Marihuana.
