Biografie
Oliver Norvell Hardy (geboren als Norvell Hardy; 18. Januar 1892 – 7. August 1957) war ein US-amerikanischer Komiker und die eine Hälfte des Komikerduos Laurel & Hardy, das in der Stummfilmzeit begann und von 1927 bis 1951 bestand. Gemeinsam mit seinem Partner Stan Laurel wirkte er in 107 Kurzfilmen, Spielfilmen und Gastrollen mit. Sein erster Film, „Outwitting Dad“, erschien 1914. In einigen seiner frühen Werke wurde er unter dem Namen „Babe Hardy“ geführt. Oliver Hardy starb am 7. August 1957 im Alter von 65 Jahren an einer Hirnthrombose. Sein Stern auf dem Hollywood Walk of Fame befindet sich in der Vine Street 1500 in Hollywood, Kalifornien.
